Everything you should know about typhoid fever
Typhoid fever is an acute enteric infectious disease caused by Bacillus typhi, an aggressive bacterial disease associated with bloodstream infections that causes a significant disease burden in Africa and Asia, primarily affecting infants to adolescents. The pathogen is Salmonella enterica subspecies Salmonella enteritidis serotype Salmonella Typhi.Salmonella Typhoid in feces spreads through the intestinal epithelium through fecal oral transmission, spreading to various systems and internal cells, causing unexplained fever.
Clinical symptoms:
It is characterized by persistent high fever, rose rash, relatively slow pulse, hepatosplenomegaly, digestive system symptoms and nervous system poisoning symptoms, but in recent years, the clinical manifestations are atypical and mild. Compared with typhoid fever, paratyphoid fever has a short incubation period and rapid onset. Paratyphoid fever A and B is usually characterized by high fever, mild poisoning symptoms, and significant and common digestive symptoms. The clinical manifestations of paratyphoid C are complicated and the heat pattern is irregular.
Route of transmission: Typhoid fever and paratyphoid fever are enteric infections transmitted by fecal-oral route and can be transmitted through water, food, daily contact and biological vectors.
Risk groups: food practitioners, primary and secondary school students, tourism workers, sanitation workers, fishermen and boat people, medical personnel, laboratory workers have a higher risk of typhoid fever and paratyphoid fever than the general population.
How to detect:
Typhoid Rapid Test Cassette of QL biotech Company is a lateral flow chromatography immunoassay for typhoid antigen.
The test kit consists of:
Burgundy binding pads containing antibodies to Salmonella typhi conjugated with colloidal gold, and cellulose nitrate film strips containing two test bands (Salmonella Typhi band) and one control band (C band).
The Salmonella typhi strip is pre-coated with monoclonal Salmonella typhi for the detection of Salmonella typhi antigens, and the C strip is pre-coated with goat anti-mouse IgG. When a sufficient volume of the test sample is allocated to the sample hole of the box, the test sample migrates through the test box by capillary action. If Salmonella Typhoid Ag is present in a patient sample, it will bind to a Salmonella typhi antibody conjugate. The immune complex is then trapped on the membrane by pre-coated Salmonella typhi antibodies, forming a Burgundy band of Salmonella Typhi that indicates a positive test result for Salmonella Typhi. None of the test strips came back negative. The test contains an internal control (C band) that should show the Burgundy band of the goat anti-mouse IgG/ Mouse IGg-gold conjugated immune complex, regardless of the color of any test band. Otherwise, the test results are invalid and the sample must be retested with another device.
Prevention: Cutting off the route of transmission is the key measure to prevent the disease.
1.Do a good job of health education, do a good job of feces, water and diet health management, eliminate flies.
2.Keep a Typhoid Test Kit at home for independent testing.3.Develop good hygiene habits, wash hands before meals and after using the toilet, do not eat unclean food, do not drink raw water, raw milk, etc.
4.Improving water sanitation and strictly carrying out water sanitation supervision are the most important links to control typhoid epidemic.
