Procedure for using COVID-19 antigen test kit
More and more people are choosing to have their COVID-19 antigen tested at home. Compared with nucleic acid testing, the use of novel coronavirus antigen test kit is simpler and faster, so how do we use it correctly at home? Here's how to test for Novel Coronavirus Covid-19 Test.
Step 1: Prepare
1.Wash hands: Use running water or hand sanitizer to wash hands.
2.understand the testing process: carefully read the reagent supporting instructions and related precautions.
3.reagent preparation: check whether the reagent is within the validity period, check whether the reagent components are missing or damaged. If the reagent is expired or the component is missing or damaged, the detection reagent should be replaced in time.
4.confirm the test environment: under the condition of 14~30℃, the test card should be used within 30 minutes after being taken out of the package, to avoid exposure time in humid air (humidity ≥60%) is too long and affect the test results.
Step 2: Sample collection
When collecting samples, first blow your nose with toilet paper, carefully unwrap the nasal swab, and avoid hand contact with the swab head. Then tilt the head slightly, hold the tail of the swab in one hand against one nostril, slowly penetrate backward along the bottom of the lower nasal passage 1-1.5 cm (for subjects aged 2-14 years, deep 1 cm), and rotate the nasal cavity at least 4 times (stay time not less than 15 seconds), then repeat the same operation with the same swab on the other nasal cavity. Dip the swab head into the swab treatment solution that comes with the kit.
Step 3: Start testing
1.Unscrew the cover of the swab treatment liquid.
2.Perform Covid 19 antigen self testing according to the reagent instructions. Immediately place the nasal swab after sample collection in the swab treatment solution, and rotate the swab head in the liquid for at least 30 seconds.
3.Squeeze the swab head at least 5 times with your hand through the outer wall of the treatment bottle to ensure that the liquid is fully released from the swab.
4.Break the end of the swab at the fold line and leave the swab head in the treatment bottle.
5.Tighten the cap of the treatment bottle. Break off the head of the handling bottle cap.
6.Remove the detection card from the aluminum foil bag and place it on a flat surface.
7.Vertically invert the treatment bottle and add 3-5 drops of liquid to the sample hole of the test card.
8.The New Coronavirus Quick Check, only need to stand the test card 15-20 minutes after the result interpretation, but not more than 30 minutes.
Step 4: View the results
Results positive: two purplish red bands appear. One is located in the detection area (T) and the other is located in the quality control area (C). The color of the strip in the detection area (T) can be dark or light, and all are positive results.
The result was negative: only a purple-red strip appeared in the quality control area (C), and no strip appeared in the detection area (T). Invalid: No purplish-red strip is present in the quality control area (C), regardless of whether the strip is present in the detection area (T).
Step 5: Waste disposal
Discard: Put all components of the kit into the plastic ziplock bag provided with the kit, seal the ziplock bag and dispose of it as per medical waste or procedure.
